50 Faces Of Jamrock
Jermain Raffington is a weapon. It's kind of hard to find a point where to start this introduction because this guy did and is doing a lot. I first met this lovely giant during my time back at VICE where he hosted The VICE Reports and produced a couple of lovely pieces for VICE Sports. We even had a very strange and painful production together where we ended up in the closet of a B-List celebrity, fake laughing about his jokes hoping for this day (and life) to end soon - but that's another story.
Besides his work at VICE and him being an ex professional basketball player (I told you he is a weapon), he is a really talented photographer.
Right now Jermaine is in Jamerock aka Jamaica where his father war born. He goes back to find his roots, travel all over the island and meet the real people outside of the tourist-bubble. He tells the story of the people and the country through his portraits like small fantastic frames that capture an entire world.
Since his journey began he started uploading portraits of all the various characters he met on Instagram everyday, and those picture are just mind blowing. Jermaine is all about portraits and for me this series really is his masterpiece so far. There is not much to add to this to be honest, just watch and see. So check out his work below, follow this giant on Instagram and visit his page for the full story.
