Culture Gate to Japan is a cutting-edge art exhibition that showcases and highlights the diversity of Japanese culture through the lens of talented and recognized media artists. Distributed at all major airports around the country and one cruise terminal, each airport museum greets visitors with locally-themed digital artworks highlighting the historic and contemporary cultural artefacts and crafts of the surrounding region. You will be able to see, feel and experience Japan’s culture in an unprecedented manner.

Exhibits range from the incredibly detailed handcrafted goods produced in the Fukuoka region, to the majestic architecture and trade legacy of the Ryukyu Kingdom in the Okinawa Area. Japan invites you to enjoy and immerse yourself in the diverse local culture of each prefecture. The result is a captivating experience that pairs historic cultural legacies with the novel media arts and revitalizes local cultures in an exciting way. The Japan Media Arts Festival is a long-running art festival honoring outstanding works of art that use contemporary media and technology in four categories: art, manga, entertainment and animation.
