Working in creative agencies, media companies or just in the whole cluster of media pitches, reach and uniques, a lot of shit runs through our daily schedules and sometimes the best thing you get out of it by the end of the week is the time you’ve spent with the people you work with. There is so much talent (and love) behind every art director, copywriter and creative, that their job titles can never really live up to the mind behind them.
Being creative just to pay your rent does not always fulfil your hunger to do and create the things you love, so almost everyone that works in creative jobs has a personal creative side hustle, project, passion, whatever it might be. Some start a blog (..me), some are DJ’s, some run music labels and some shoot short movies:

In February 2017 Mischa Smeljanskjj and Sascha Hosters went on a road trip in California. Before heading out into the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree from LA, Katie Bell joined them for the trip. After a night out in Palm Springs, the trio realized a short film idea that they had been talking about before: How do phone habits and dating apps change our perception on communication? moment(s) is a short reflection that tries to raise questions instead of providing concrete answers.
Mischa Smeljanskij is the most wonderful person I have met working at VICE and probably the smartest person I will ever meet. For five years, he worked as an Activation Director at Vice Media in Berlin, he recently transferred to Highsnobiety where he is now responsible for Audience Development and Brand Activation globally.
Sascha is currently finishing his PhD in Media Studies and works as a freelance writer and video maker in Brooklyn, NYC. He is also running a short video project called @nycminutes that features snippets of NYC street scenes.
Katie Bell likes seeing things with her own eyes. She’d an agent and producer of photography and motion, based in Brooklyn for now but about to skip winter this year and head to Asia on a new adventure.
