Relishing in Rebelliousness: Kusikohc’s FW23 Preview

Korea seems to be the mecca of contemporary fashion right now; we are seeing brands that stem from this side of the world truly shine in the modern market, and as people start to feel stagnated towards the normalities of usual everyday style, Korean brands are filling in the gaps with their innovative and unique formalities.

One of these brands in particular is Kusikohc. A brand that piqued our interest over a year ago and has ever since continued to keep our eyes peeled on their playfulness.

Seamlessly fitting into the ready-to-wear category yet with an unparalleled sense of experimental edge, Kusikohc has continued to project itself forward each season. With the preview of their FW23 collection in their latest editorial, it’s clear they have still yet to let off on the gas towards greatness.

In this wild editorial we see a clash of cultures and a melting pot of themes all stirred together providing a rich narrative and world-building: formality meets the streets, the eccentric shakes hands with the sensible, and nostalgia and the undiscovered intertwine.

With models seen with cuts, scratches, and bruises adding to the aesthetic. With the brand being created by renowned and world-famous South Korean photographer Cho Gi-Seok, it's clear to see why each editorial looks as amazing as it does. Challenging the convention and expectations of the industry, they are flipping styles and genres on their heads, and in doing so not only creating new ones but expanding on existing ones.

Their slogan, “right to fail”, implies the brand’s intention to challenge these rules of fashion. Their clothing is dynamic, bending traditional forms and functions but never implying a sense of over-the-top elaboration. Kusikohc speaks its own narrative with fashion and only wishes to be heard by those who are open to listening.
