Attack On Titan: Beautifully Horrific and Wonderfully Sinister
Shingeki no Kyojin, or also known as Attack on Titan, is a roller coaster of plot twists, ‘colossal’ sized fight scenes, and incredibly written story arcs.
Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, and animated by WIT studio and MAPPA, there are only a few Manga and Anime shows which rival this giant in its storytelling and character development.
With humanity at its brink, the people left reside within giant walls protecting them from bloodthirsty humanoid-like monstrosities called Titans. One day, that wall is breached and starts a chain of events that see us follow the main protagonist, Eren Yeager, as he and the rest of the cast struggle to survive throughout the shows 4 seasons. Hajime Isayama has you questioning which side you’re really on with his unique approach to morality and perspective as it closes in on its final episodes.
Attack on Titan is beautifully horrific and wonderfully sinister. Its use of a sombre atmosphere paired with gripping choreographed action scenes leaves you on the edge of your seat and dialled in at all times.
With a compelling, believable story that slowly unfolds, going deeper than you thought was possible, the finished product is a paragon.
With the manga now finished, and the anime’s final season set to start airing again in Winter 2022, watchers are eagerly waiting to see how the story comes to a close whilst desperately trying to avoid spoilers.
