The bad-ass schoolgirl is a trope that we simply can’t get enough of, and with models @elizabethdelapiedra and @_wzhengyu_ you can almost feel the gust of wind from their roundhouses through your phone.
Mixing the classic elements of Japanese schoolgirl fashion such as the pleated skirts, knee-high socks, and sailor-style uniform blouses with the quintessentially coloured anime girl hair and dimensional movements; the Cold Archive produced editorial presents as though Scott Pilgrim were to meet Battle Royale. Working with a variety of both British locale and overseas brands, stylist Innes Woo perfectly executes the intersecting themes of cute and deadly.
While the fascination with Japanese schoolgirl fashion has long been rooted in fetishism, the editorial instead empowers the trope, with its muses portrayed as people you don't want to mess with.
Sure you get a glimpse of the goods, but soon after you're getting a foot in your face.
