Japan’s Exclusive Schott x Wrangler

The Japanese fashion scene loves American classics, which can be seen in the success of brands like Beams or United Arrows.

Both introduced American wear to a Japanese audience and formed the style we know as Japanese Americana. On the other hand, two brands that are deeply rooted in the US American fashion culture and are both well established in the states and beloved in Japan are Schott and Wrangler.

Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott. Ever since, the brand has created products that have become ingrained in the American style, such as their iconic motorcycle jackets. Then, Wrangler emerged in the 1940s as a specialist in workwear and jeans that were perfectly suitable for rodeo riding.

As both brands enjoy popularity in Japan, the two brands joined forces on a Japan-exclusive collaboration. The outcome was three products that fuse the strengths of both companies.

The Western Shirt takes its design and name from the typical western jackets and pays attention to detail, such as engraved “W” on the buttons or a yoke with piping. The Wide Jeans are an updated version of the Wrancher Dress Jeans and use the Schott typical L-shaped pockets. Also drawing inspiration from the Wrancher Dress Jeans, the Dress Pants feature the same pockets but come with a less wide-cut than the Wide Pants.
