Post Archive Faction in Paris

Sabukaru teams up with Tomorrow London to present to you the latest Post Archive Faction editorial, shot in the city of Paris.

With photography by Laurent Segretier and creative direction by Graeme Gaughan, PAF goes on a trip down the social political language in fashion, to express and explore the possibilities lying in the relationship between the historical sites of Paris and the post-human designs of the brand.

Post Archive Faction is a cutting-edge creative collective from Seoul, Korea. They have been constantly pushing the boundaries of fashion ever since 2018. What started off as a research based, tech-oriented post-apocalyptic clothing brand gained public notice in 2021, when PAF was nominated for the LVMH prize. Ever since then, the brand has been dominating the gorp-core fanatics and working with big names in the industry, including names such as Virgil Abloh and FILA.

While the general impression towards the visuals of Post Archive Faction are mostly studio shots, Graeme added a twist to the brand image, presenting a refreshing editorial shot in the streets of Paris.

What at first glance is a practical approach for the brand to place their futuristic designs into the real world turns out to be much more expressive and political than meets the eye. For instance, the slick blacked out look was shot in République, a district located in central Paris, known for being a symbol of the French Republic, and center for local movements in recent years. Hence the model was dressed in all black and holding a speaker as a tribute to the events that once occurred in such a place.

As for the gray look, it took place in La Defense, the metropolitan, business area of Paris, famous for being home to the most powerful corporations in the country. When modern European architecture meets the cutting-edge Korean textiles and silhouette, the collision is nothing else but strong.
