The Artist Who Makes Digital Inflatable Installations of Anime Girls

Most have already seen their art - it went viral multiple times.

Under the name of Tsunotsuno, this Japanese multimedia artist gathered a big following on their Instagram and Twitter accounts. In fact, celebrities like Rowan Blanchard have reposted this mind-blowing art.

Based in Japan, Tsunotsuno is known for their cute-but-creepy digital art, all while keeping a low profile on their identity and private life. Using apps like Blender, Tsunotsuno creates incredibly realistic drawings of inflatable balloons in the shape of young anime girls, over dim photographs of an unspecified Japanese city.

The girls in question are characterized by melancholic and innocent expressions, as well as their trendy and girly clothes, contrasting with the bleakness of their background. Mixing elements of fantasy like the three-headed dog Cerberus and angelic depictions, Tsunotsuno sparks wonder in fans all over the globe.

What’s most impressive about this art is that it’s hard to tell if it's real or not. The texture of the balloons is so real that it reminds us of the installations at the most recent Diesel runway show. Many fans are baffled by Tsunotsuno talent and unique approach to digital art and realism.

The artist also paints and experiments with clay sculptures. They have had multiple exhibitions in Tokyo, and Heaven by Marc Jacobs collaborated with them to promote their coolest pieces of clothing.
