Unapologetically Hot and Cold: Li Yu Xuan’s Photography of Modern Sensuality

Regardless of post-shooting retouches and digital manipulation, it’s undeniable that whatever the subject is, the veritableness is there. And therefore, it’s not simply about capturing reality but also its sentimental nuances and external influences in order to turn it into art; Li Yu Xuan, one of our favorite photographers, ceaselessly amazes with her dexterity and ambition when it comes to this.

Both are similar in the sense that inclusivity is, by all means, omnipresent, but all sensitive touches are dominated by sexual liberation, body autonomy, playfulness, a touch of arthouse grunge-punk, and the utter fatality of lust and beauty.
Currently based in Taipei, Li Yu Xuan partakes in photography as artistic fuel and is also a fantastic tattoo artist. Her melancholic mix with unsubdued sexiness and frothy blues is a signature. It’s not an obvious thing to photograph such provocative images - in fact, it takes quite a lot of bravery to start such projects.
