YOUNGCURATOR – Avant Garde Uniform at its Core

YOUNGCURATOR – Avant Garde Uniform at its Core

Fashion is continuing to be an ever-increasing competitive space.

With more and more talents rising through the ranks and creating diffusions of traditional styles it is easier than ever to acquire your own taste and explore your identity as brands multiply by the day. The question that arises though is does more equal better?

In the question of sustainability and the pursuit of a greener fashion industry, this is not the case. Although, a brand stemming from LA aims to tackle this critical subject whilst still providing avant-garde uniforms to the next generation. Introducing YOUNGCURATOR.

Emerging in 2021 with their first release and now 2 years later continuing to supply their signature style for their most recent January 2023 collection, YOUNGCURATOR, or YC, looks to bring bringing new perspectives to existing patterns. By developing a concise brand vision they cleverly blend nuanced detailing with complex forms and versatility, creating everyday garments that not only act as your uniform but a stand-out piece all the same.

YOUNGCURATOR’s clothing are characterized through brash minimalism with the use of rough, unfinished materials and exposed structural elements. Developing monochrome pallets and a focus on function over form to create a rugged, timeless feel, YC helps to calm the static usually found in avant-garde fashion.

Where YC truly stand out is their premise on conscious manufacturing and decision-making. By using robust single-fibre fabrics over synthetic blends, they look to address the aforementioned sustainability issues within the fashion industry. Whilst not only providing garments that can last longer through tough and adaptable properties, they also decompose faster when reaching the end of their lifespan. The use of single-fibre fabrics means the garments can be easily reissued and recycled into new creations, putting a new meaning to timeless fashion.
