Within this landscape, JACKSON kaki has emerged as one of the most compelling voices of a new generation. His work spans 3DCG, video, performance, installation, and sound, forming a practice that resists categorization. His trajectory began in visual and 3DCG practices, but quickly expanded through the influence of electronic music and hip hop rooted in club culture. That foundation continues to shape his work, not only aesthetically but structurally. Sound, image, and space are treated as equal components, each informing the other in real time.
もともとは3DCGや映像作家としてキャリアをスタートさせたが、エレクトロニックミュージックやヒップホップといったクラブカルチャーの影響を受け、その表現は大きく拡張していった。その基盤は現在の制作にも強く息づいており、音、映像、空間が対等な要素として相互に作用し合う構造を生み出している。
After entering IAMAS in 2022, his focus sharpened toward the relationship between technology, the city, and the human body. Observing how bodies are increasingly obscured within contemporary systems, he began to approach his work through performance and staged environments, continuing to question how physical presence is transformed or even erased in a technologized society.
2022年に情報科学芸術大学院大学 IAMAS に進学して以降は、テクノロジーと都市、そして身体の関係性へと関心を深めていく。現代社会において身体が不可視化されていく現象に着目し、パフォーマンスや舞台作品を通して、物理的な存在がどのように変容していくのかを探求してきた。
This ongoing inquiry culminates in his installation “欲望する都市,” a work centered on Shibuya as both a physical site and a symbolic construct. Taking the district’s redevelopment as a point of departure, the piece examines how desire manifests within urban space. It unfolds across multiple layers, combining physical installation, body-based performance, and VR mediated perspectives to construct a fragmented yet immersive vision of the city.
その探求の延長線上にあるのが、渋谷を舞台にしたインスタレーション作品『欲望する都市』だ。再開発が進む都市の姿を起点に、人間社会に内在する欲望を可視化する本作は、単なる空間展示にとどまらない。身体を素材としたパフォーマンス、VR HMDによる情報レイヤーを重ね合わせながら、「都市」「身体」「情報」という複数の視点から渋谷という存在を再構築していく。
The exhibition was presented as a commemorative showcase following his recognition at the NEWVIEW AWARDS 2024, where he received the PARCO PRIZE. It marked not just an award, but a continuation of his long-standing involvement in projects exploring XR expression and experimental formats.
本展示は「NEWVIEW AWARDS 2024」にてPARCO PRIZEを受賞したことを契機に発表された記念展示でもある。XR表現の可能性を探るプロジェクトに初期から関わってきた彼にとって、この受賞は通過点であり、これまでの活動の延長線上に位置づけられるものでもある。

His relationship with PARCO runs deeper than a single campaign.
