We've shown you the brand JIAN YE before.

While still being a very young brand, designer SUGENO pulls inspiration from his many outlets, resulting in some of the most interesting and detailed collections we've seen in the past years.

 
 

With the brand's first collection paying homage to Wu Zi Mu aka "Woozie" from the game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, their second collection making countless references to the "living fossil" horseshoe crab, there really is no guessing what will be the next source of inspiration for the brand.

 
 

Just as we thought JIAN YE's themes couldn't get any more diverse & wild, their Autumn Winter 2022 collection "Z.H.U" surprises us once again, with the theme being pigs. JIAN YE's brand logo "朱" is read "zhu", which is the designer's last name, and the Chinese character for pig is also read "zhu", making the collection name as perfect as it gets. On top of that, with Japanese word play on the word for "special forces", the collection portrays an imaginary "special pig forces".

 
 

Pigs were originally boars, but humans genetically modified them over generations to become livestock, losing their fangs and all defense instinct. While the clothing is for the "special pig forces", bright colors like yellow are used rather than camouflage, due to pigs not having any survival instincts.

 
 

Some highlight items & references include the "BOG JACKET", an updated field jacket with velcro on the sleeve but no patch due to the pig special forces not belonging to a country. The "CH-5" is an updated version of the designer's father's MA-1. The "FLIPPER CARGO" boasts 10 pockets, with one made for a butterfly knife. The "BOA VEST" doesn't protect you from bullets, but probably will from the cold. The "SOLDIER PANTS" and "SNOUT SHIRT" feature patches in the shape of pig noses.
